For far too long, young women and people experiencing gender-based discrimination have been left out of the spaces where critical decisions are being made. Our world is facing mounting, overwhelming crises – from climate justice, income inequalities, gender-based violence, the wage gap and parental leave, to sexual and reproductive health rights, and global conflict. Young people being marginalized by their gender are being disproportionately affected by harmful action or inaction on these issues.

Today we live among the largest generation of youth in history, so young people play a pivotal role tackling these crises head-on. Fora is propelling the force of young changemakers into spaces where they can drive action, enabling them to have impact in the spaces they are currently being excluded from.

Will you join us to radically reimagine leadership by becoming a monthly donor today?

 Why Give Monthly?

Propel young leaders

You can help propel exceptional young individuals forward on their leadership trajectories. Your support will prepare young women and people experiencing gender-based discrimination with lifelong skills, confidence, resources, and networks to drive change where their career, passion, and advocacy takes them.

Have a ripple effect

By helping advance the leadership trajectory of a young person experiencing gender-based discrimination, you are investing in entire communities when they return to their home (across Canada or around the world) with the skills and expertise to advance change.

SPEED UP systems change

You can help create more inclusive, equitable boards driving the actions of organizations, advocating for more equitable policies around issues that affect people marginalized by their gender and supporting young people to drive long-term change from the top.

MULTIPLY YOUR IMPACT

Monthly giving multiplies the impact your support can have: your ongoing gifts allow Fora to plan long-term, and ensures that your gift is used in the most effective way possible to help advance gender equity.

Your monthly gift will help Fora pass the mic and amplify the ideas and experiences of young women and all young leaders overcoming gender barriers.

YOUR SUPPORT IS THE SPARK THAT SETS OFF LASTING CHANGE.

 The Future of Leadership

Meet a few of the young changemakers that have participated in Fora's programs and hear their hopes for the future - dreams you can make possible with your monthly gifts.

Mercy Ayesha

Mercy Ayesha is fueled by passion, transparency, and authenticity. Having lived an incredibly turbulent life as a child, they are determined to make sure no one experiences the difficulties they did. A proud newcomer to Tkaronto, they want to shape the future of policy supported by their extensive grassroots experience and continue solving issues that impact our communities.

“I want to create a world where the solutions to our problems are created by those who experience those problems. We must be committed to decision-making that genuinely examines any issues using the perspectives of those with the most at stake for truly effective solutions.”

Zahra Al Hilaly

Zahra Al Hilaly is a 21-year-old first-generation Australian from Palestine and Iraq. As a writer, advocate and public speaker, Zahra is committed towards amplifying all intersectional youth at the core of decision-making processes.

"I hope, in this world, or the next, that I will be able to sleep knowing we are finally done with our fight for peace, and justice."

Julieta Zacatenco Herrera

Julieta is a queer feminist advocate of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for women and non-conforming gender identities. She is currently working in a civil society organization, designing and fundraising for projects regarding violence-free environments for girls, women and historically marginalized groups.

"I dream of a world where diversity is not seen as wrong or bad, where me and my partner can have a family without fear. I want to be a mother, to raise my child with love and patience."

"Fora is a very rare organisation - one of its kind. It is a beacon of hope for sisters across the world. Fora must exist in a time like this because, for many, it is a revolution that we have not yet seen [...] As a gender vocalist for change, it is very hard to be hopeful when systems are built against us. However, Fora is the hope we need, when we are hopeless."

— Zahra Al Hilaly
