ABOUT THE FORA GLOBAL SUMMIT
The annual G(irls)20 Global Summit brings one young woman (aged 18-23) from each G20 member country, plus MENA, African Union, Pakistan, and Indigenous and regional delegates to the site of the G20.
On Wednesday, May 29th, G(irls)20 hosted over 200 gender equality advocates at our flagship event: the Global Summit. Deep in the heart of Tokyo, this event pushed the boundaries on conversations about the rights of girls and women. Inspirational speakers, academic experts, and advocates from the field took the stage to share their perspectives on how young women should push for gender equality in 2019.
The summit for delegates included:
Workshops that built valuable leadership skills
The development of a Communiqué with recommendations to the G20 based on the delegates’ unique experience and expertise
Opportunities to build lifelong friendships with young female leaders from around the world
Building networks of mentors from the across the public and private sectors
Participation in a public event with thousands of young women from around the world, to learn from inspirational speakers and policy experts about young women’s inclusion in the economy and society!
